Alice in Wonderland Tea Party

Throwing parties is another passion of mine.   I designed my daughter’s 2nd birthday party with the theme of Alice in Wonderland.   My inspiration came from a beautiful piece of fabric that incorporated all the colors I had envisioned.  It was the perfect find!

The children’s table was decorated with personalized party favors.  All the little girls were treated to tutus, custom initial onsies, and matching butterfly wings by Adisten’s Closet. You can also visit their Facebook and Etsy shop.  What about the little boys you ask?  The boys all received Mad Hatter transfer shirts, Mad Hatter hats, and age appropriate card games.

Kim, over at The TomKat Studio, worked with me to create amazing, modern, custom paper goods- invitations, cupcake toppers, “drink me” and “eat me” tags, and beautiful Alice in Wonderland inspired 4″ party circles.  Kim’s designs added so much personalization to the party including her name, Adisten, and the number 2.  I am in love with Kim’s work!

The night before the party I was working hard in the kitchen baking cupcakes.  In addition to the cupcake toppers, I searched high and low for Alice figurines.  I found them!  LC Cakes made adorable 3D figures which added the perfect Alice touch.  Guests were drooling over these edible little characters.

So Much to do with Pom-Poms

Paper pom-poms are beautiful, fun, whimsical, and can be hung or used for decoration just about anywhere.  They have become quite popular hanging above a decorated table top, but have you thought to add a small pom to a napkin ring or arrange them in a vase to look like flowers?  Pom-poms are used at wedding receptions and birthday parties and children’s bedrooms or play rooms!   I just love the versatility of them!  You can buy them in pre-made kits or you can make your own if you are feeling crafty.  Check out Martha Stewart’s easy directions to create your very own.
