It’s easy, inexpensive and what is not to love about S’mores?  I just used a clear plastic bag(I just bought these at Target), filled the bottom with Hershey Kisses, added Graham Crackers, and a few heart marshmallows.  Tada!!!  Done.

Happy to BEE 3!

I have had a lot of fun lately designing paper party goods!  I’ve shared Adisten’s ice cream parlour birthday party, click here for part 1 if you missed it. but for her actual birthday I wanted the day to be just as special!  I whipped up some “Happy to BEE 3″ designs for our family celebration at home and a matching tank top to wear on her birthday.  The bee theme is one of my favorite color schemes(black, yellow, and white) but I wanted to add touches of pink!  Hope you enjoy my little creations :)

{Part 2} Ice Cream Parlour Party

Decorations, Details, and Party Fun!

Tissue Fans!!!

The 21″ tissue fans, from Shop Sweet Lulu, were one of my favorite decorations of the party!  To jazz them up, I created 7″ circle cut outs and glued them to the center of the tissue fan.  The red center fan said “Adisten’s Ice Cream Parlour” and the two light blue fans were decorated with the cute sundae image.

Tulle Pom Poms

I hung red, light blue, and white tulle pom poms from the trellis that covered the party area.  Then I filled tins up with sand and decorated the tables with pom pom wands.  Available on my website, adistenscloset.com in custom colors.

Keep Calm and Eat Ice Cream!!!

This framed poster got a few good laughs at the party.  When I found it on etsy, from Poster Prop, I knew it had to get it.

Party Printables

I had a lot of fun designing the light blue and red ice cream parlour party printables!  Here are a few more photos of the party details…

Pinata Time!

I ordered this amazing, custom pinata from Whack.  They were amazing to work with, I sent a copy of the invitation and they created a matching ice cream sundae pinata!  This was Adisten’s favorite part of her birthday party!

Swimming Fun

The kids all had a fabulous time swimming in the lagoon and going down the water slides.  We are so lucky to have such an awesome facility to use all summer long, we’ve already been 3 times in this past week!  Of course, I had to search high and low for a red and white bikini(that wasn’t too 4th of July-ish) for the birthday girl to wear.  I finally found a perfect one, a Kate Mack bikini!

My birthday girl and I!

Stay tuned this week for free part printable downloads!

{Part 1} Ice Cream Parlour Party

We celebrated Adisten’s 3rd birthday with an Ice Cream Parlour party at our local lagoon, a man-made lagoon complete with water slides.  It was a great way to kick off the beginning of summer and have an excuse to eats LOTS of sweet treats!  Adisten had so much fun with all her little friends and our family.

As I was setting up for the party, it was so windy the sweets were literally being blown over and the lighting was HORRIBLE for photos.  Sorry for the photo quality, I’m no photographer and the weather and lighting were not helping!

The Invitation

The inspiration for the party was an adorable Ice Cream Parlour stand from Pottery Barn Kids in light blue and red.  I designed the invitations and party printables to coordinate!

The Inspiration

When the kids arrived Adisten gave them each a red sand bucket with shovel filled with personalized Ice Cream Parlour arpons I made, hats from Bake It Pretty, ice cream bowls, and ice cream scoops. The Ice Cream Parlour stand is from Pottery Barn Kids, the inspiration for the party!

The kids all had a great time wearing their aprons and creating their very own ice cream sundaes!

Adisten’s Ice Cream Parlour

The dessert table was full of candy, cookies, cake balls, push cakes, cupcake ice cream cones, chocolate dipped strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and lots of toppings for the homemade ice cream!

I’m no baker(or cook for that matter!) but I must admit I was really happy how these cupcake ice cream cones turned out.  I put a few recipes together, the ever popular cupcake baked into a cone and then I dipped them in chocolate melts and topped with a peanut M&M.  I had extra red and white stripey straws from Sweet Shop Lulu so I pushed those through the cones to use as sticks and add a little color.  They were a hit with the kids and the adults!

Adisten’s Nana made homemade vanilla and chocolate ice cream for all her little guests!

More sweets… push cakes and cake balls!  I have extra, brand new push cake containers if anyone is interested in purchasing them.  Please email me at adistensclosest@yahoo.com for more details.

{Inspiration Monday} White Nurseries

I bet you are thinking the color white and babies don’t mix, right?  Well, I am thinking this is completely wrong!  Look how beautiful these nurseries are?  So soft, calming, inviting and surprisingly warm! I truly want to rock and cuddle a baby all day in one of these rooms.  Ok, if I’m being honest, it could also have to do with the fact that my baby will be 3 in less than 2 weeks.  Plus, I am maybe a tiny bit stressed at the moment so this sounds like heaven.  To sit and do nothing but stare at an itty bitty baby.

Ok, ok… back to design.  I LOVE this giant mirror behind the crib and I bet the baby who rests her sleepy eyes in this bed would have hours of fun making faces and slobbering all over it.  Since I live in Southern California, I personally don’t think I could actually design my baby’s room like this because of those darn earthquakes.  It would just scare me way too much.  Please always consider this when hanging beautiful objects above your precious baby’s crib.

Adding textures to the room will really give the stark white color scheme warmth.  Notice the rugs, chandelier, mirror frame, and cozy blanket.  Did you also spy that door?!  Love that idea for a baby or child’s room!

Changing Tables

There are so many alternative pieces of furniture you can use instead of a typical changing table.  Why spend money on a piece of furniture that will only be used for a short amount of time?  Personally, I think they are a waste of money when you can find a unique piece that can double it’s purpose after the diaper years.

Find an awesome dresser, counter height at about 30″ tall and simply add a changing pad to the top.    Turn your changing station into the focal point of the room!  I LOVE this bold, yellow dresser.

I also love this sleek, modern look.  So sophisticated and chic.  You can barely tell it’s a changing table!

This can easily be used throughout the years as shelf display for books, toys, etc.

Would you rather not see the changing table at all?  There are several modern solutions!

The studio crib is a perfect solution for small spaces.  The crib serves multiple purposes- changing table, toddler bed, and when the time comes the changing table turns into a desk.  Available at Nursery Works.

Custom cabinetry is also a wonderful option for those who like to keep things hidden.

Here is something very chic, a fold down changing table!  Can you see it?

Want a more traditional, yet modern changing table?  There are so many modern choices to choose from these days, many in coordinating nursery sets.
